Snow closure work for S3 History pupils

Happy New Year S3!

I thought I would give you some suggestions for doing some History so we don’t fall behind during this cold spell.

We are about to start studying the Scottish Wars of Independence. This is the story of how Scotland fought long and hard to maintain its independence. It starts with a crisis; it introduces you to key historical figures such as Edward I, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce; it also has important battles such Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn.

What you could do at present, when stuck at home, is to get a general overview of the whole story by looking at the following websites:

The History at Huntly website has information and some examples of work, so have a look at that.

If you want, you could watch ‘Braveheart’, but be warned it has historical errors and we will go through the movie in class later.
