Meet Katrina, our book reviewer. Today she is looking at the Whitbread Book Award  (now the Costa Book Awards) winning children's novel by Geraldine McCaughrean, "Not the End of the World".

It sound like a really interesting book and hopefully some of you will get 'round to reading it one day. You can get it from you school library.

Storytime

When Bob Pegg (a singer of tales) visited the school he not only spoke about George MacDonald, he also told a few stories. We were lucky enough to be able to record him.

Here is the tale of The Sealkiller.

The story originates in the far north east of Scotland by Duncansby Head and tells the story of a man who killed seals for a living. (Ok not very PC these days, but it was a common trade in yesteryear.)

I think it is a wonderful tale. Hopefully you will enjoy it too.
