Adam

Thanks for these links chaps. Great to meet up with everyone at SLF and Teachmeet was a ball.
Nice to read that the thoughts of teachers may actually be considered by ministers.

It was great to meet you there Adam, and like David is saying it was good that she was willing to take questions from the floor, despite having fairly filibusterous approach to her answers.

Did you see David's question covered in the Scotsman today?

I was pleased to see that the Q&A session was included in the on-line material. The questions have generated as much interest as the main event, from what I can see. Lynne Lewis recommends the Q&A, and Elizabeth Buie in today's TESS follows up on the possibilities Fiona Hyslop mentioned for making it easier for those nearing retiral to reduce their hours.
Lynne's post: http://edubuzz.org/blogs/llewis/?p=207
Elizabeth Buie's piece: http://www.tes.co.uk/article.aspx?storycode=6003057

"The Education Secretary is considering “activating” parts of the national teachers’ agreement to help older teachers “wind down” as they approach retirement and free up space for new entrants, she told 1,400 delegates at the Scottish Learning Festival on Wednesday."
