The best way to prepare for exams is to do as many past papers as possible. So how do you do this when there are no past paper?
The SQA has a Speciman Paper and marking scheme for you to use - here.
You also have Pennyprint books of questions and answers. Remember to use them wisely - Describe and Explain questions should not have a source attached to them. Either do the question without using the source and / or change the question to a 'how useful' or 'how fully.
You have a Free at Last revision guide, a Wars of Independence revision guide and an exam skills booklet.

If you do revise, do it by making summary diagrams or similar. Only revise gaps in your knowledge. Find those gaps by doing past papers.
Remember, the prelim will only cover Free at Last and Wars of Independence.
Good luck.
