Higher Modern Studies: Course Information

Higher Modern Studies has three mandatory units: 

• Political Issues in the UK
• Social Issues in the UK
• International Issues

Two study themes within the Political Issues in the UK and International Issues units are studied at The Gordon Schools.

Political Issues in the UK

Study Theme 1B - Decision-making in Central Government and Electoral Systems 

Study Theme 1D - Voting, and Political Attitudes

International Issues

Study Theme 3C - The United States of America

Study Theme 3E - Politcs of Development in Africa (with the exception of the Republic of South Africa)
