I said it last year (to myself) but I'm more serious this year.
I am already fed up with football even before the season has begun. By footbal I mean the (English) Premiership. The people in this business (surely it is no longer just a sport) live increasingly detached lives from their fans.
Didn't it strike John Terry as just a just petulant that he wanted a wage rise to take him above his teammates Schevchenko and Ballack to earn a whopping £135,000 per week. But this was the one that got me CRAIG BELLAMY is now getting £80,000 a week at West Ham, not bad for someone who's maturity has often been questioned.
No wonder it is increasingly difficult to make sure that kids get a decent education when they see the likes of Bellamy up there earning all that dosh. Prince Charles once got a going over in the press for daring to say that not all kids can become rock stars etc and that surely there is something not quite right about a childs ambition being "to be famous." When we get back I am going to ask the boss if I can do the Life's Not Fair Assembly.
