There appears to be a new concept in school management making its appearance.
It's called The Virtual Headteacher.
This concept involves a headteacher being physically present in school less than 5 days a week, by dint of assiduous membership of as many authority-wide committees as possible.
This type of leadership has huge advantages to the incumbent:
- It allows them the opportunity to remain close by the side of the Director of service
- It means they don't have to deal with problematic staff on a daily basis
- They don't have to get to know or deal with the pesky kids that frequent their establishment.
