S4- Pupils in mr Parker’s class should look at the web links provided by mr Davidson. Primarily, Intermediate 2 pupils should be researching and preparing an answer to their chosen extended response question. ALL Int 2 pupils should have an idea of which title they would like to use by their return. Int 1 pupils should check out Free At Last? Web links to gain an insight into what comes next. Good luck!

 S3- pupils should be revising for their Immigrants and Exiles NAB. Mr Davidson has put links and podcasts up to help. Please use them. All pupils MUST have some idea of how to answer a “how useful…”, “describe” and “explain” question. This is important stuff, so while you have the time learn it!

 S2- pupils should check out our web links on Mary Queen of Scots and other sites that describe her. This is the next topic we’ll look at. Best wishes.

Have a look at past papers! Don't forget there are marking schemes on the same site.

Higher prelim will be same as a Higher Paper 1 paper.

S5/S6 Int2 prelim will have 3 questions from Cradle to Grave, 3 questions from Blood and Iron and 1 essay to do.

I thought I would give you some suggestions for doing some History so we don’t fall behind during this cold spell.

We are about to start studying the Scottish Wars of Independence. This is the story of how Scotland fought long and hard to maintain its independence. It starts with a crisis; it introduces you to key historical figures such as Edward I, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce; it also has important battles such Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn.

What you could do at present, when stuck at home, is to get a general overview of the whole story by looking at the following websites:

Just in case this cold spell and snow showers continue, here is some work to keep you up to date.

 

You should be working through the Blood and Iron Questions.

If you can find past paper questions to do, then do as many as you can.

Consult your Exam Skills booklet and be prepared for the prelim.

The prelim will consist of a choice of essay question from the Cradle to the Grave course and the Blood and Iron, so you will have to do ONE 8 mark essay question. On top of that, you will have 3 questions on each topic, so you will do 6 questions in total, one or two will be a How Useful question and a Compare question. This will done in 1hour 16 minutes.

I don’t remember giving you an essay plan for the Nazi topic, so here is the one we will do (if I did give you an essay plan, could someone let me know please?):

As regards, the prelim, you will have to do one essay question on the British topic and one on the Germany topic, so prepare one of each and make it your best one yet. Practice your introduction (see previous help on this); plan the main part and ensure there is analysis and judgements with a quote or two; make sure your conclusion pulls together your judgements and tackles the question.
