Hopefully you will have been working through the last booklet on Democracy. Download Pressure for Democratic Reform Unit JD - Jan 2014.
Here's some powerpoints to help with this final booklet (Thanks to Meldrum Academy for these):-
Download 1867 Act Runaround Answers Mrs F 4H
Download The Peterloo Massacre Mystery
Getting ready for the Exam:
- DO past papers! You have Pennyprint material for all three courses, but remember there are errors in these. For example Describe and Explain questions will not have a source. ALWAYS refer to the Exam Skills I made - Download N5 Study Guide Compare pdf; Download N5 Study Guide Describe Explain; Download N5 Study Guide How useful pdf.
- You should also do the Speciman Paper (with marking Instructions) on the SQA page. They also have advice on using other past papers.
- When you hit a question your knowledge is patchy, then actively revise that section. Summary diagrams, mind maps, comic strips, etc. Use the Revision Guides I gave you. The Changing Britain, Migration and Empire (S5) and Nazi Germany(S5) were Pennyprint versions (can't upload here due to copyright issues); the Wars of Independence, Free at Last and Making of Modern Britain are here :- Download Free at last Revision booklet V.3; Download Wallace bruce revision N4-5; Download From the cradle to the grave[1].
- An important aspect to doing well in the exam is managing your time. When you do past papers, work your way up to doing them under exam conditions.
- I really think it's important for you to know how your scripts will be mark. You need to know how to gain full marks, so study the SQA'a marking instructions as well as my Exam skills booklet.
See you after the holidays. We will do a Changing Britain (Migration & Empire for S5 pupils) 'prelim' to see how you are getting on.
