As I mentioned in class you are going to prepare a speaking assignment during the holidays. This will be assessed on the Friday of the week we come back and it will be in the form of a 2 minute presentation with only brief notes to help. You have the details in your Wider World booklet.
In order to assist you in this task you are going to enter the wonderful world of web 2.0 technology. Before the hols are over you are (hopefully if the tech works) to submit your draft version via a private group on a website called utterli.com.
You will be able to submit your draft in one of two ways but first you will have to reply to an invitation to your email address from the group administrator, i.e ME. You will then have to sign up to utterli.
Once in you can use utterli for your own purposes but you will be a member of our private little group called...Higher French.
As I said there are 2 ways in which you can send you talk:
- via the website direct through your computer's microphone / webcam. Don't worry you don't have to send a video message although that would be fun.
- or by a simple phone call to a normal landline number, 02071001933 (If you have a mobile with contract minutes or your home phone has free minutes to ordinary numbers then it won't cost you anything.) On calling the number you will have to enter the account's registered phone number which is the school number BUT without the "0" i.e 1466792181. Then enter the PIN which I will give you in class. After that follow the instructions. Once you have recorded and saved it then it gives you an option to send it to your group (option 5 I think). By the way the lovely American lady keeps going on about the "pound sign" she means the # button.
